June 2009
Ack! Ellie’s 8 months old! And I must go stop her from sucking on the blinds!
OK. Attention has been diverted, now she’s chewing on a book instead. Oops, and the remote. OK, now she’s mouthing a plastic block instead. And climbing the coffee table.

So, Ellie is now suddenly much more dangerous. To herself. She started crawling 3 weeks ago and was pulling up on the coffee table before that. Of all the things she loves to chew on, electrical cords are number 1. Close seconds are: remotes, toes, books, the edge of the coffee table, spoons, noses, and cups. She also loves to climb into the toy basket and have at it. She now has fantastic control with her hands and maneuvers toys in and around her mouth easily, twisting and flipping them so no part is left un-slobbered.

She still squawkes and aahs and practices her consonants. She stopped saying “dada” for awhile (the fame had gotten to be too much), but it is back in the rotation. For video, see my videos on facebook.

She is getting more and more stubborn and opinionated. Combined with her cuteness, this has made her quite the queen of our (very humble) castle. I can write no more, she won’t leave the keyboard alone.

Her hair is ever growing longer and is still coming out blond. Her eyes are green and her skin is perfection; soft, dewy and delicious to kiss. She sports a small dimple on her right cheek and has little smile folds on either side of her mouth when she grins. She raises her right eyebrow in every expression and folds both down when she’s thoughtful.

This entry has been impossible to write, as Ellie is crawling all over and pulling herself up and really wants to eat the mouse and keyboard. Though I think there may be more to say about her this month, I’m just going to go ahead and publish it. Whew.
