Random Today

Standard

Ahhh. Summer in the bay area is so lovely. Today it was cool and cloudy, sweater weather. Yesterday was 85, shorts weather. The only problem is you never know what to wear. Always, always, carry a sweater with you and maybe pants, too. Ellie and were cold, cold, cold today while shopping. I almost stuck her under my shirt.

I found that you can watch seasons of “Hell’s Kitchen” online at FOX’s website and I’m reciting, “yes, Chef!” emphatically to myself, as I order myself to cook dinner faster. It also makes me hungry, so I can’t watch it during that long afternoon snacky period.

I’m excited about the next few weekends. This weekend, Momm and Dad are coming down to see Grandma and Grandpa and I’ll get to see them and hopefully Lois, too. The the 4th we’re going to Redding and so are Leif and Melissa and family. Then the following weekend, hopefully Josh, Olivia and Daniel will come visit with Momm and Dad. A lot of family, that’s just want I need!

If anybody out there is wondering why I haven’t called (and there are many of you that I owe a phone call), I left my phone charger in Redding 3 weeks ago and my phone is dead, dead, dead. I’ll be getting it this weekend from Momm.

Hugs!

June 2009

Ack! Ellie’s 8 months old! And I must go stop her from sucking on the blinds!

OK. Attention has been diverted, now she’s chewing on a book instead. Oops, and the remote. OK, now she’s mouthing a plastic block instead. And climbing the coffee table.

So, Ellie is now suddenly much more dangerous. To herself. She started crawling 3 weeks ago and was pulling up on the coffee table before that. Of all the things she loves to chew on, electrical cords are number 1. Close seconds are: remotes, toes, books, the edge of the coffee table, spoons, noses, and cups. She also loves to climb into the toy basket and have at it. She now has fantastic control with her hands and maneuvers toys in and around her mouth easily, twisting and flipping them so no part is left un-slobbered.

She still squawkes and aahs and practices her consonants. She stopped saying “dada” for awhile (the fame had gotten to be too much), but it is back in the rotation. For video, see my videos on facebook.

She is getting more and more stubborn and opinionated. Combined with her cuteness, this has made her quite the queen of our (very humble) castle. I can write no more, she won’t leave the keyboard alone.

Her hair is ever growing longer and is still coming out blond. Her eyes are green and her skin is perfection; soft, dewy and delicious to kiss. She sports a small dimple on her right cheek and has little smile folds on either side of her mouth when she grins. She raises her right eyebrow in every expression and folds both down when she’s thoughtful.

This entry has been impossible to write, as Ellie is crawling all over and pulling herself up and really wants to eat the mouse and keyboard. Though I think there may be more to say about her this month, I’m just going to go ahead and publish it. Whew.
